Cappadocia travel guide
Short, practical notes for planning a trip to Cappadocia: how to get here, when to come, what to pack and how booking works.
Getting to Cappadocia
Two airports serve Cappadocia: Nevşehir Kapadokya Airport (NAV) and Kayseri Erkilet Airport (ASR). Both have domestic flights, including from Istanbul. NAV is generally the closer of the two to the main tourist towns. Many travellers also arrive by long-distance bus or by car.
Tell us your flight details when you ask for a transfer and we will plan the pick-up around them.

When to go
Spring (April to June) and autumn (September to November) are usually mild and comfortable for walking. Summer days are hot and dry, with cooler mornings and evenings. Winter is cold and can bring snow, which many visitors find beautiful; some outdoor activities depend on the conditions.
Balloon flights run early in the morning, every day of the year when the weather allows. Ask us what is running on your dates.
Before you book a balloon flight
Whether a flight takes off depends on the weather on the morning, so a flight can be cancelled at short notice. The balloon page explains how we handle weather cancellations. Booking early helps, because places are limited.

What to wear and bring
Wear comfortable closed shoes: day tours involve walking, and the Green Tour includes a valley hike. Bring layers, because mornings and evenings are cool even in summer. In summer add a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen. ATV and jeep rides can be dusty, so sunglasses help.
When you visit churches and other religious sites, covered shoulders and knees are appreciated.
Prices and payment
